I’m not on a diet, I’m on a lifestyle change!

A few months ago I found myself overweight, unhealthy, and unhappy!  I had seen my friend posting on how she had been loosing weight and I “assumed” she was taking some unhealthy diet pill that made her shed so much weight.  I thought to myself, no I can do this on my own and the healthy way and not take any “diet pills.”  Well little did I know, she wasn’t on any diet pill, but she was taking supplements that were natually sourced and she changed her eating habits.  I told her I would think about it, but in the back of my mind, I still thought, no I can do this on my own.

Then I was looking through pictures of our vacation and I saw a picture of me in the background and I didn’t like what I saw.  I immediately called her up and told her I was ready to make a change in my life.  She walked me through my first few days on my new life and helped me lose eight pounds my first week and a half.  Wow, this was easier than I thought, and I loved how my jeans fit, not to mention how great I felt.

When I started my lifestyle change, it consisted of cutting out carbs.  For the first few weeks, I thought to myself that this would be so hard not eating carbs.  Then I started researching and finding wonderful bloggers that were in the same boat as I was and they shared recipes that you didn’t even know they were good for you.  Four months into my lifestyle change, my husband and I have lost a total of seventy pounds, we feel better, and we have more energy. 

I get asked a lot, “how do you not eat carbs?  I don’t have that self control.”  Um, when you see results in your health and weight, it keeps you motivated.  Plus your body teaches itself that it doesn’t really need, or like that stuff anymore.  I do have cheat days every once in awhile, if you don’t you will never succeed in this new you!  Good luck, and I hope you will follow me on this new lifestyle!

 

 

I’m Back!!

So I have taken a long vacation (not really I have just been crazy busy with a toddler, a lifestyle change, and running a household).  But my New Years Resolution was to start back on blogging and sharing my passion for food, family, and fun!!!  I have really thought long and hard about what I want my site to be about and what I have to offer

A few months ago, my husband and I made a huge lifestyle change.  We knew we needed to make a change in our life so we decided to do it with our health.  We started a low carb – high protein diet taken with supplements.  It was the best decision we have ever made.  Not only have we lost weight (I have lost almost 40 pounds) we are getting healthy, and we are teaching Little Fella how to be healthy.

I have been really working on some delicious low carb recipes and can’t wait to share them this next year with you.   For you carb lovers out there, don’t panic, I will still have other recipes that aren’t so carb friendly (yes you need a cheat day once in awhile). 

I can’t wait to see what 2016 brings to my family and this site.  See you soon!!
